Stephen Plumlee

Entrepreneur-in-Residence

Stephen Plumlee (he/him) founded R/GA Ventures in 2013, and in that role has invested in almost 200 startups across all verticals. In partnership with UConn and CT Next, R/GA Ventures successfully operated the Future Climate Venture Studio.

From 2006 until 2024, Stephen was also the Global Chief Operating Officer and then Vice Chairman of R/GA Media Group, Inc., a division of Interpublic Group of Companies (NYSE: IPG). As R/GA’s Global COO, Stephen oversaw the company’s growth and expansion to 17 cities around the world and was responsible for coordinating the company’s global operations including financial tracking, P/L management, and business continuity planning. He also led the development of R/GA’s digital media production group.

Stephen holds a BA in Philosophy from Columbia University. He has previously served on the Boards of Directors of BRIC Arts l Media l Bklyn (Brooklyn, NY) and the Winchester Land Trust (Winchester, CT). He is also a supporter of first-generation student initiatives as well as the local food movement and open space/farmland preservation. Stephen is the co-founder of Northwest Corner Farm, an organic, diversified vegetable farm in Winchester, CT.
